JOB DESCRIPTION
The Microsoft 365 Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and development of the company’s Microsoft 365 environment. This role ensures that users have reliable, secure, and efficient access to all Microsoft 365 services – including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps), Copilot, and the Office application suite.
Act as the subject matter expert for Microsoft 365, providing technical expertise, end-user support, training, and proactive improvements to enhance productivity and collaboration across the business.
THE ROLE
Administration and Support
- Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 security/compliance features.
- Administer and configure user accounts, licenses, groups, and permissions via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Oversee email hygiene, threat protection, data loss prevention (DLP), and compliance settings.
- Manage updates, patches, and feature rollouts across the M365 suite.
- Troubleshoot issues across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and liaise with Microsoft Support when required.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and change logs.
Power Platform (Power Automate & Power Apps)
- Design, build, and maintain Power Automate flows to streamline business processes.
- Develop and support low-code/no-code Power Apps to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with departments to understand process needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Manage governance and security of Power Platform usage, ensuring alignment with IT policies.
SharePoint & Teams Management
- Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and document libraries.
- Support and enhance Teams structures, channels, and integration with SharePoint and Power Platform.
- Implement best practices for collaboration, version control, and information security.
Copilot & Office Applications
- Support adoption of Microsoft Copilot across the business.
- Provide configuration and user support for Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Identify opportunities to leverage Copilot and AI capabilities to drive productivity gains.
End-User Training & Support
- Provide day-to-day technical support to users on Microsoft 365 tools and applications.
- Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and guidance documents for staff.
- Promote best practices in Microsoft 365 usage and digital collaboration.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business users to identify and resolve technology pain points.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up to date with Microsoft 365 feature releases, updates, and roadmap changes.
- Proactively recommend improvements, automation, and optimization opportunities.
- Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Hadley Group sites within the Midlands. (Driving Licensed needed).
- Hadley Group International sites. (Valid Passport needed).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Qualification(s)
- Level 4-5 qualification (e.g., HND, Foundation Degree, or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, demonstrable equivalent experience in a technical IT support of systems administrator.
Professional / Vendor Certifications (One or more of the following)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate (MS-102) – This is the core, current certification for managing Microsoft 365 environments.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-102) – validates knowledge of deploying and managing devices and apps in an enterprise environment.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) – demonstrates understanding of Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) – indicates understanding of Microsoft’s security and compliance solutions.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) – covers foundational knowledge of Azure services that integrate with Microsoft 365.
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of hand on experience administering Microsoft 365 services in a business or enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive for Business.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Conditional Access, and M365 security/compliance policies.
- Practical experience creating and maintaining Power Automate flows and Power Apps.
- Excellent Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and end-user support skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality service in a fast paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience deploying or supporting Microsoft Copilot and AI productivity tools.
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell) for automation and reporting.
- Experience in data governance, information protection, and compliance frameworks.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate (or equivalent certification).
- Experience delivering end-user training or technical documentation.
