JOB DESCRIPTION
A Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to all UK Hadley owned properties. The individual will play and integral part in maintaining and improving the building fabric and its assets whilst minimising disruptions to daily operations.
THE ROLE
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical,
electrical, and electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime. - Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, using various tools and techniques,
to determine the root cause of the problem and implement appropriate solutions. - Repair and Replacement: Conduct repairs or replace building fabric related faulty components and
document all maintenance activities performed. - Preventive Maintenance (PPM’s): Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including
lubrication, calibration, cleaning, and adjustments, to prevent equipment failure and extend its lifespan. - Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working with equipment, machinery,
and hazardous materials to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of building maintenance activities, including work orders,
equipment logs, routine inspections and inventory levels, to track maintenance history and monitor
equipment performance. - Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate with other team members, including senior managers,
supervisors, operators, and engineers, to prioritise facility maintenance tasks, address issues, whilst
optimising operational efficiency. - Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to operators and other staff members
regarding equipment operation, facility maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. - Facilities equipment upgrades: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new
equipment or upgrades, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and
efficiency enhancement within the maintenance function, and actively participate in implementing and
evaluating these initiatives. - On occasions and where skilled to carry out the task: Maybe asked to complete non-facilities maintenance works for other departments.
THE CANDIDATE
- Technical certifications or vocational training in relevant fields are advantageous.
- Qualified Electrician, City & Guilds 2330 & 2391 or NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition required and must be willing to maintain updates as they become available.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
- IPAF, PASMA and FLT certification is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, along with a solid understanding of maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manual, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
- Flexibility to work on-call, overtime, or weekends when required.
