Production Manager

Job Description

The Hadley Group requires a Production Manager to be responsible for the operation of HAP in terms of all processes, health, safety and environment, production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, and human resources. The role will also require you to manage all aspects of the department through collaborative working with the production team to deliver, and where possible, exceed, the key performance indicators within the operation. The successful candidate is also someone who will strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times.

  • Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored and targets achieved.

  • Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.

  • Communicate with the teams by utilising the visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.

  • Be responsible and accountable for every process within Hadley Allied Products.

  • Be responsible and accountable for every product that is manufactured within Hadley Allied Products.

  • Accurately read and interpret engineering and product drawings.

  • Ensure all paperwork is completed, kept up to date and verifies product quality at all times.

  • Ensure BOM, Structure of items, Drawings and documents are in place prior to manufacture.

  • Strive to improve current operating methods to reduce cost or increase efficiency adapting to using new technology when it is available.

  • Source and procure material, tooling, equipment, spares, consumables, and items to deliver products on time to the customer at optimum cost to the Group. Including the sign off of purchases/invoices.

  • Be responsible for elimination of problems, implement corrective actions, and use Engineering knowledge to alleviate problems & issues.

  • Oversee the enquiry costing process for new sales

  • People Management

Experience

  • Preferably manufacturing/engineering degree or HNC + Management qualification e.g. ILM

  • Proven track record within manufacturing management, ideally sheet metal

Core Competencies

  • Understanding of HAP products and the capability of processes

  • Proficient in the use of Computers and Microsoft Office – Excel and Word

  • Ability to design processes and layouts
